LA ESPERANZA YOUTH FOUNDATION

Building Something Worth Waiting For.

An Important Update on Our Upcoming Initiatives

To our La Esperanza families, alumni, supporters, and community,

As we continue working toward the future of La Esperanza Youth Foundation, we would like to share an important update regarding two initiatives that mean so much to us: our First Annual Alumni Charity Match and the opening of Youth Foundation applications.

After thoughtful consideration, we have made the decision to postpone both initiatives to Spring 2027.

We understand that many of you have been looking forward to these opportunities, and we want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly.

Our reason for postponing is simple: We want to do this right.

From the very beginning, our vision for La Esperanza Youth Foundation has been about more than organizing events, providing financial assistance, or launching new programs. It has been about creating something meaningful, something that brings people together, opens doors for young people, and leaves a lasting impact on the community that has supported our club for so many years.

We recognize that initiatives of this importance require more than good intentions. They require careful planning, strong partnerships, responsible preparation, and a clear understanding of how we can best serve the families who place their trust in us.

We do not want to rush an event simply to meet a deadline, nor do we want to open applications before we are fully prepared to provide the level of organization, fairness, communication, and support that our community deserves.

Our families deserve clarity. Our alumni deserve an unforgettable experience. And above all, our youth deserve opportunities built with genuine care and purpose.

Our First Annual Alumni Charity Match is especially meaningful to us. It represents an opportunity to bring together generations of players who have helped shape La Esperanza’s story since 2003. We envision more than just a soccer match. We envision a celebration of our history, the friendships formed along the way, the families who have stood beside us, and the community that continues to make everything possible.

We want to give this event the attention it deserves, from welcoming back former players to creating an experience that everyone involved can look back on with pride.

The same care applies to our Foundation applications. We understand that behind every application is a young person with goals, a family doing its best, and an opportunity that could make a meaningful difference. That responsibility is something we take seriously.

By allowing ourselves additional time, we can continue strengthening our programs, developing community partnerships, preparing our application and review processes, and working toward a sustainable foundation for the support we hope to provide.

Looking Ahead to Spring 2027

We are currently working toward the following tentative timeline:

  • March 2027: First Annual Alumni Charity Match
  • Late April 2027: Opening of Youth Foundation applications

These dates are not yet confirmed and may change as preparations continue. Official dates, event information, and application details will be shared once finalized.

A Message to Our Community

To everyone who has supported La Esperanza, whether you are a current player, a former player, a parent, a coach, a volunteer, or someone who simply believes in what we are trying to build: thank you.

Your encouragement and belief in our mission mean more than words can express.

La Esperanza has always been about more than what happens on the soccer field. It is about belonging, opportunity, perseverance, and the people who make up our community.

The Youth Foundation is an extension of those values. It is our opportunity to take everything that La Esperanza has represented over the years and turn it into new possibilities for the next generation.

We know that postponements can be disappointing, especially when excitement and expectations have already begun to grow. But we believe that taking the time to prepare thoughtfully today will allow us to accomplish something much more meaningful tomorrow.

We would rather take a little more time to build something lasting than rush something that means so much to the people we’re hoping to serve.

This is not a step away from our vision. It is a step toward making that vision a reality.

Our commitment remains unchanged, our purpose remains strong, and our hopes for the future continue to grow.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for being part of this journey with us.

The best things take time. And our community deserves our very best.

Same Community. Brighter Futures.
